Recently, we learned that PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds ' publisher Bluehole only expected the game to sell a mere 200,000 or 300,000 copies in its first year. The game had been released for only five months when it was announced to have sold more than 10 million copies through Steam Early Access.

This information was first spotted by reddit user Defying , when the question was asked whether it was considered acceptable to edit configuration files. In response to the question, Bluehole responded by stating the following:
